Roseland - Cedar Grove 230kV Reconductor Project
The Roseland – Cedar Grove 230kV Reconductor Project is a PJM-approved merchant network upgrade that reconductors two transmission lines, in parallel, from the PSE&G Roseland Switching Station in Roseland to the PSE&G Cedar Grove Switching Station in Cedar Grove. All of the existing transmission lattice towers will be re-used and reinforced as needed. There will not be any foundation or other subsurface work at the tower locations. In addition, new hardware and insulators will be installed for the entire length of the lines.
The linear project is approximately 8 miles in length and runs along the transmission right-of-way (ROW) through four municipalities in Essex County (Roseland Borough, West Caldwell Township, the Borough of North Caldwell, the Township of Cedar Grove) and one municipality in Passaic County (the Township of Little Falls). This project is expected to generate minimal noise. This work will take place only within the transmission ROW. The anticipated in-service date for this project is February 2021.
