June 2022 Update
As you may know, PSE&G has been actively working on the new electrical Orange Heights 69KV substation on South Jefferson Street in the City of Orange. The electrical upgrades will strengthen resiliency and reliability for the City of Orange as well as the surrounding communities. Below you will find some construction updates:
- Newly installed 69kV Poles on S. Jefferson Street
- Light inside plant work preparing for construction, which is anticipated in mid-July/August
Heavy Construction Activity - PSE&G and our contractors are actively working on the PSE&G and public rights of way in Orange and East Orange, as well as surrounding communities. Some aspects of this activity may result in unavoidable noise, as well as traffic adjustments. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. PSE&G is coordinating with the Police Department to minimize any inconvenience.
Please be advised that on or around June 8, 2022, PSE&G crews and our approved contractors will begin underground construction. The work will occur along Central Avenue, between Lincoln Avenue in Orange and South Munn Avenue in East Orange. Work hours will be 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday however some weekend and night work may be necessary. This phase of construction will be ongoing for approximately 5 weeks, weather permitting.
