The Texas Avenue Station Reconfiguration is a critical construction project that will help PSE&G continue to deliver safe, reliable electric service for our residents and businesses in the Lawrence area, as well as central and southern New Jersey.

Authorized by PJM Interconnection, the organization responsible for planning the transmission system in our region, this project is a multimillion-dollar investment designed to increase the reliability of the network. This project will replace and upgrade equipment that is near the end of its lifecycle and convert the existing 26kV network to 69kV, allowing for greater station resiliency. The project will also connect this station to the 69kV switchyards in neighboring stations in Lawrence, Ewing and Hamilton. To accommodate the Texas Avenue Station’s construction, PSE&G will purchase the adjacent property, located at 20 Texas Avenue.

As safety is PSE&G’s first priority, the utility is committed to working with the Lawrence Township Police Department to minimize any traffic concerns or inconvenience to the public during construction. Please note, there are no planned electric service outages due to this work. Construction is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2021, with the station going in-service by the spring of 2023; landscaping and final restoration is slated for the fall of the same year.
